Let’s make New Jersey a national model for clean water, healthy families, and good jobs.
New Jersey has an opportunity to make a historic investment in clean water, but we must act now.
Our families, economy, and quality of life depend on clean water. By expanding funding for water infrastructure, Governor Sherrill can demonstrate that New Jersey leads on one of the most critical issues facing our nation, and cares about keeping water affordable for everyone.
The Clean Water, Healthy Families, Good Jobs Campaign asks that the Sherrill-Caldwell Administration and the Legislature restore state funding for water infrastructure investments to $60 million.
Our aging water infrastructure needs an upgrade.
Over the next 20 years, New Jersey requires $77 billion in capital investment to bring its water and wastewater infrastructure to a state of good repair. This equals roughly $3.8 billion per year—or $413 per resident. This amount is just for basic repair.
